Preserving the Silk Soul
Ati Reshme saree is a masterpiece of tradition. Follow this instructional guide to ensure your heritage handloom silk remains as vibrant and soft as the day it was woven.
Washing
Always dry clean your silk sarees. If unavoidable, hand wash in cold water using a very mild detergent or soap nuts. Never wring or twist the fabric.
Storing
Store your sarees in a muslin cloth or a breathable cotton bag. Avoid using plastic covers or hanging on metal hangers. Refold the saree every 3 months to prevent permanent creases.
Ironing
Iron the silk on a low-medium setting while the fabric is slightly damp. Always place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the saree to protect the gold zari work.
